Reese Witherspoon seriously pursued her acting after enrolling in Stanford University. The first time she was recognized for her work, it was with performances in films like Pleasantville and Election but it was her role as Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde that marked a significant turning point in her professional career. Witherspoon was awarded the Academy Award in 2005 for her part as Elle Woods in Walk the Line. She also appeared as an actress as a character in The Dictator (1998) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2006). As well as her profession as a performer, Sheila is also a talented artist.
